heard a lot about this place so finally made up my mind to check it out myself. Visiting for the first time for approx 10 days in october. can anyone provide me with an estimate budget for the following things – visa fee, accomodation, food, drinks, transportation, tattoos and not forgetting the lovely bargirls. Do hotels charge extra for bargirls if they stay over night. any other tips, useful websites. I looked over the internet for budget hotels and might stay at sawasdee sea view new wing rooms as they have an offer for 2 free nights if i stay for 10 days. also need some info on currency exchange and tips/precautions on carrying money – how safe is it?

Hi i lived in chonburi i thing you have 60,000 bath and more if you want go to bar girls an you can ask information hotel and tourist agains. Good luck and enjoys in pattaya

Only some hotels charge extra for girls (1000baht), but you might save money booking a double room so you can have someone back free of charge…..

visa fee: at airport, free for Americans staying less than 30 days. Food: from 20 baht (local food) up–about 300 baht/day is more then enough at most places. Drinks: Singha beer–70 baht at a beer bar, 120+ at shows on Walking Street. Transportation–10 baht for local bus. Transportation from airport-Pattaya–1200 baht and they pay the tolls. Tattoos–no info. Lovelies–300 baht bar fine at a beer bar up to 800+ on Walking Street. Amount for her the next morning–1000 baht for bar girl, go-go girls think they are worth more not to mention Walking Street girls. Overnight–depends on the hotel. I stay at Welkom Resort North Pattaya (http://www.welkominnthailand.com/) and they do not–ask the hotel their policy. Exchange–ATM machines all over town along with currency booths. Carry just enough cash to convert at airport to get from the airport to Pattaya and have a couple drinks. I don’t carry more then I think I’m spending a night but be street smart and don’t flash the cash, don’t wear fancy jewelry, stay out of dark streets, etc. I’ve never had any trouble with security. Don’t go to Pattaya thinking that you won’t be scammed. Thai bar girls may not be highly educated but they are street wise and operate in a different world to what you are accustomed to. They act and think differently. I’ll say that again “think differently”.
Someone has done quite a bit of research but the rate quoted for the girls is far too high. Here is a brief outline of what you would expect to pay.
There is a bar fine plus girl fee.
Go Go Bars
Indoor bar with girls dancing on a catwalk usually in the center of the room. The dancers will be wearing a mixture of intimate apparel such as chemise sets, bikinis, garters and sometimes just a birthday suit (naked).
Bar Fine: 500-800 Baht. (Most of the bars)
Girl Fee: All night negotiable from 800 to1500
There is a way to negotiate it is called L.A.P.T.O.P.

Some will try for 2000 maybe more. This is especially so for certain character traits and physical atributes of the client (you).
Short Time Bars

Beer Bars
These are the open-air type bars that have a roof but no walls. They are packed tightly together and each bar has its own sound system competing to dominate the airwaves. This creates a rowdy party atmosphere. The girls are clothed.

Massage Parlors
Quite often referred to as the “Fish Bowl” because all the available massage girls are seated behind a plate glass window. The girls are clothed. Most of these parlors feature hotel style rooms with a very large bath. We call them a “Soapy Massage”
Bar Fine: None. There is a flat fee 1000 –1800 Baht. A tip could be offered based on performance.
Discos
Don’t be mislead by the word “Disco”. These venues in Thailand are quite different to the Disco’s in Americia, England, Europe or Australia.
Thais gather at the Discos for a “SANOOK” (fun) time.
The entertainment in these Discos is non-stop. Dancers with choreographed routines accompany most live acts on stage. The music is 80% live bands. The girls are “freelancers”

Street
That’s where they are, on the street, the Beach Road promenade or inside a shopping center like Royal Garden Plaza.

Shopping Malls
Some girls have been meeting potential clients in several shopping malls around Pattaya. One popular mall for the girls to stalk out customers is the Royal Garden Plaza. A mixture of girls solicit clients in the malls and care should be taken.
