I need help on which area is it best to book hotel in pattaya, bangkok?

Question by lacoste: I need help on which area is it best to book hotel in pattaya, bangkok?
My friends and ai are going for holidays this coming april to bangkok. We were suggested to go to pattaya beach.
I’m trying to book a hotel around the area, but I wouldn’t know if it’s near the beach or not. So I guess my question is which area in pattaya is it best to book a hotel from we do not have a car. And also, what other things can we do aside from beach?

We also want the hotel to be near the beach if not beachfront

Pattaya is a city in Thailand, a beach resort popular with tourists and expatriates. It is located on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand, about 100 kilometres southeast of Bangkok and so many hotels in Pattaya like bellow.

    A-ONE The Royal Cruise Hotel
    The Bayview Pattaya
    Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya
    Dusit Thani Pattaya
    LK Metropole
    Inn House
    Royal Palace Hotel
    Sabai Lodge
    Page 10 Hotel & Restaurant
    The Ambiance Hotel
    Sabai Resort
    Hotel Tropicana
    Centara Pattaya Hotel
    Flipper House Hotel…etc

Hi, I have no idea about your hotel staying budget, so I recommend a 3 star hotel named Inn House. This hotel takes you ~50 us$ /night, close to beach (100 metres to the beach) and shopping. If you like nightlife and bar, this hotel is suit you. Check out link below for more information of Inn House and nearby hotels. Nicetrip.

I will not comment on what hotel to stay at. But if you are coming to Pattaya for the beach you are going to be very disappointed. If you are coming here as a sex tourist you can always get a resort with a pool, but if you really want to enjoy the beach and have no interest in the sex trade in Pattaya than go somewhere else.

Choose a hotel from the Lonely Planet guidebook. Then change hotels after first night if you want to do that which is easy.

The Pattaya beach is not the best, but sure is there. The bar scene is very active. There are several tourist attractions but nothing like a Six Flags nor Disney there.

If you want a beach holiday and it has to be in Pattaya then you should look for somewhere in either the Jomtien or Naklua areas of Pattaya. Pattaya beach itself is pretty unpleasant and best avoided.

Pattaya has a very lively bar and nightlife scene. There are also various attractions such as ladyboy shows, off-road touring, excursions, and the usual sort of thing you find in tourist resorts. Here’s a local guide http://www.pattaya-funtown.com/

You’re wasting your time if you’re going to Pattaya for the beach.

@Chuck, what’s up with you and the Lesbian Planet guidebook fetish?
