i need to do a current event for school tomorrow and all the articles i find make refrences to groups of people i know nothing about or use words i dont fully understand. can someone give me the who what when where why and how on this article?

Thailand has revoked the passport of ousted Prime Minister ThaksinShinawatra in connection with protests that have plunged the countrydeeper into a political crisis.

A government spokesman, PanitanWattanayagorn, says the Foreign Ministry has revoked Mr. Thaksin’spassport for inciting his supporters to storm last week’s Asian summitin the coastal resort of Pattaya, forcing its cancellation.

Arrestwarrants have been issued for Mr. Thaksin and 14 opposition leaders oncharges of illegal assembly and inciting criminal acts. The formerprime minister, who was overthrown in a 2006 military coup, spoke tothe protesters every night via video and telephone, calling forrevolution.

Mr. Thaksin has been living in voluntary exile toavoid a two-year jail sentence on corruption charges. He is believedto be living mainly in Dubai.

A state of emergency imposedafter the Pattaya summit was canceled remains in effect in Thailand, asauthorities continue to search for the leaders of the three-week oldanti-government protests. Mr. Thaksin’s supporters had been camped inan area outside Government House in Bangkok, demanding the resignationof Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva. The siege escalated intoviolence, with street clashes in Bangkok Monday that left two peopledead and more than 100 wounded.

The demonstrations ended Tuesdayafter protest leaders called for a peaceful end to the demonstrationsand four of them surrendered to police.

As many as 2,000demonstrators boarded buses to return home as authorities clearedroadblocks and burning tires from Bangkok’s streets.

Newspapersin Bangkok denounced Mr. Thaksin and the protest leaders for incitingunrest, but also called for national reconciliation to end thepolitical upheaval that has plagued Thailand since Mr. Thaksin’s ouster.
